Jamari is embarking on his collegiate journey as a #FirstGeneration college student. Inspired by University of Illinois professor and Morehouse College alumnus Dr. Irvin Hunt, Jamari learned about the Institution and decided to pursue an English degree like Dr. Hunt. In high school, Jamari started the first People of Color club which focused on uplifting POC in the school and Champaign/Urbana community through fundraising and proactive discussion. While at the College, Jamari plans to pursue his passion for writing through the Maroon Tiger.
