When we talk about the agri-food transition, we’re talking about how we can make agriculture and food production more sustainable. Not just for the planet, but for farmers too. Right now, many government policies alienate farmers from the conversation. The UBS Sustainability and Impact Institute spoke with restaurant entrepreneur Henry Dimbleby about how the UK’s Environmental Land Management scheme sets out to do the opposite. Acknowledging how important farmers and land managers are to the transition, the scheme supports them financially and gives them a seat at the table. The result? Motivated farmers committed to climate action. What do you think – can this approach be reproduced in other countries?
