The end to an era has come as Dave Clausen has announced his resignation as women’s ice hockey head coach with the Utica Pioneers. He has accepted the position of and was announced as the men’s and women’s golf coach at St. Lawrence University (NY) on Monday, August 12th. He held the same title with the Pioneers from 2016-2024.
Clausen, a Hamilton College (‘98) graduate, ends his tenure with Utica after twenty-three seasons and is the only bench boss that the team has ever known since its inception for the 2001-2002 season.
The Pioneers and Clausen put together an overall record of 347-214-37 (.580) while qualifying for their conference tournament in every year except one, becoming one of the premier
#NCAA Division III women’s ice hockey programs in the country.
Clausen earned four Coach of the Year awards during his helm, two with the
#ECAC West and two with the
#UCHC. He also served as a member of the
#NCAA Division III women’s ice hockey championship committee.
