Thank you to those of you who personally reached out to me last week after Nazi fascists ran riot in the UK terrorising Muslims and POC. I’ve had kind, thoughtful messages from white women from around the world who reached out and checked in on me. Of course, as a white person it can be difficult to know what to say. Privilege can feel awkward. It may come with the feelings of guilt, perhaps shame, knowing you experience life very differently to someone else just because by pure luck you happen to be born in a certain body in a set of circumstances that you have no control over. However by taking the simple act of sending a tiny message of support you display your humanity, deepen your relationship with others and makes them think that you care. So thank you – I feel loved.
