SickKids has a legacy of helping those who need it. My mom had open heart surgery there in the 60’s and my sister had eye treatments decades later. Today the knowledge is deeper and the technology is helping to achieve things we once thought impossible. Unfortunately, that is only one side of the story, the reality is the current building (some parts built in 1949) can’t keep up with 21st century medicine.
Swipe right to see a picture (by jayscale) of an elevator in the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit, it’s barely large enough to contain the necessary staff and equipment to transport a patient. The new SickKids elevators will be large enough to ensure health care providers can maneuver with greater ease. This is only one example of how SickKids needs a new building and they need all of us to join in. I’m proud to partner with SickKids in their latest fight:
#SickKidsVSTheBuilding and encourage you to join me. Visit
