Dignity Health St. Joseph’s emergency department is one of the first in the nation to implement an innovative and efficient protocol to help cool patients suffering from heat stroke through ice immersion. This care model can be used in a hospital setting or deployed in the field by first responders to help cool heat stroke patients rapidly, safely and less invasively. *This is a demonstration to showcase how the St. Joseph’s team cares for heat stroke patients with ice immersion therapy.*
