Three years ago today, I minted my first NFT, "Smile for Me," starting my on-chain career + a quick reflection post.
At the time of minting, I had just started learning 3D a month before, was working as an Art Director at Ford Motor, and had no clue about the blockchain.
So, I got on Clubhouse, learned, and connected with everyone I could for two months. I became deeply fascinated and quickly obsessed with the blockchain. In March, I started my first collection called
#Spacehoops and sold my first NFT in April 2021. I saw apes being minted at 0.08 but couldn't afford one. In Septemeber 2021 I sold out
#Spacehoops, and in October I quit my job to go full-time Web3.
The next few months I saw 69k BTC drop to 16k, and 4400k ETH fall to 1100k.
But, I never left Web3. I didn’t quit, and I didn’t want to go back to a 9-5, I just wanted to keep grinding through the bear so I could build something genuine for myself.
