Fastpacking vs Backpacking ⬇️ The two activities may be similar but have important differences. Backpacking is multi day hiking completed at a leisurely pace, being self sufficient with food and shelter along the way. Fastpacking on the other hand, takes the self sufficiency aspect but emphasises minimal lightweight gear, speed and running shoes. Essentially both activities achieve the same end goal, but one is slightly faster than the other. Both challenging and enjoyable in their own respects.
