USMNT striker Josh Sargent scored his first goal of the season for Norwich today and played brilliantly today, being rated as Player of the Match ๐๐พ
However, he couldโve been in Cincinnati today instead of England. FC Cincinnati of MLS pushed until the last day of the MLS transfer window to sign the American, according to MLS journalist Tom Bogert.
Personal terms wonโt be an issue for the 24-year-old, but Norwich are demanding up to $25 million. Cincinnati made a bid around $20 million and will keep pursuing Sargent in the winter.
He scored 16 goals in 30 games for Norwich last season, and could be huge for MLS if he goes there.
Cincinnati did sign another American forward from Europe, Nicholas Gioacchini who played for the USMNT in the 2021 Gold Cup.
Gioacchini, also 24, helped Como reach the Italian Serie A last season. Heโs coming back to MLS on loan after previously playing for Orlando and St. Louis.
