Four years after the release of 2012’s critically acclaimed album ‘channel ORANGE,’ Frank Ocean began a mysterious rollout that kept fans tapped into his every move.
In April 2015, Frank seemingly teased the long anticipated follow-up album when he dropped images on his Instagram with the caption “Boys Don’t Cry
#July2015.” As July 2015 came and went, the following summer finally delivered answers as it was soon revealed that ‘Boys Don’t Cry’ would be an limited zine release. The momentum behind the mystery quickly increased as Frank dropped a live stream on his website on August 1, 2016 featuring him building a staircase with his soon-to-be released album ‘Endless’ streaming in the background.
Frank fulfilled his Def Jam contract with the exclusive Apple Music-streaming only video release of ‘Endless’ on August 19 and immediately returned with his official independently released album, ‘Blonde’ the next day on August 20.
