Willing students at East will be participating in a national walk-out to protest gun violence at noon Wednesday. The walk-out will take place on the football field. This was planned by the East Against Gun Violence club — run by juniors Eve Benditt and Emma Krause. Protesting students will stop whatever they're doing at noon and move towards the field. “We’re walking out because enough is enough,” Benditt said. “Shawnee Mission East and even Shawnee Mission School District can only do so much, [but the] real change has to stem from the government.
