The Lancers took home a regional championship victory and advance to the state quarterfinals after they defeated Olathe East 5-0 on Thursday, Oct. 27. At the end of the first half, East was up 3-0. Goals were scored by senior Jack Lucas (2) and sophomore Lars Alsin. During the second half, two more goals were scored by junior Beck Rettenmaier and senior Ike Sheets. Head varsity coach Jamie Kelly is very proud of what his team accomplished. "The way the boys played tonight was amazing," said Kelly. "They played strong, they played fast, they played skillful and they showed that they were the better team." The Lancers will take on Mill Valley on Tuesday, Nov. 1 at Mill Valley High School at 6:30 p.m. Quarterfinal tickets will be $10 for everyone, student IDs will not be accepted.
