A group of 33 pro-Palestinian students and activists filed a motion to intervene Aug. 19 into a lawsuit by the Louis D. Brandeis Center for Human Rights Under Law and Jewish Americans for Fairness in Education, or JAFE, that alleges UC Berkeley failed to stop antisemitism on campus.
The intervenors seek to insert themselves as a party in the case, alleging that neither the plaintiff nor defendant represent their stakes in the case. The Brandeis Center and JAFE opposed the motion to intervene, and the UC defendants have “taken no position,” the court documents say.
