The varsity football team took the field for a scrimmage against New Braunfels Long Creek last Saturday, and though the score wasn’t kept, but the results were clear. “Our offense was very dominant,” sophomore Hugo Smith said. “The defense looked good but needs a little more work, but our running game was great, probably the best it has ever been.” Smith said the scrimmage served its primary purpose. “I think it was good to go out there and scrimmage against a team that we have never played before, and it’s gonna help us get ready for our season coming up.” The team has another scrimmage 7 p.m. Friday night against LBJ at Nelson Field.
