LIONS ROLL OVER BREAKERS: The jserra.girlsvb team capped a busy week with a second straight dominant homecourt performance, as the Lions dispatched the Laguna Beach Breakers in three sets, 25-15, 25-9, 25-10 in a nonleague match at JSerra Catholic High School. Though the Lions were playing their fourth match in the last four days, JSerra quickly established themselves as the superior team. After the first set was tied at 10-10, the Lions closed on a 15-5 scoring run to take the set. The Lions continued to overwhelm the Breakers with strong play at the net and with well-placed serves over the next two sets, as they outscored Laguna Beach 50-19 to close out the win. Junior Catherine Beadles was strong in helping to facilitate scoring chances, passing for a team-high 18 assists. Beadles also recorded a team-best five aces in the match.
