Amid the park's 50th anniversary, Adventureland's Tornado has officially joined the list of Roller Coaster Landmarks. The Tornado is one of Adventureland's most iconic rides, so it's fitting to get the landmark designation, said Lynsey Winters, adventurelandresort communication director. "As a fully wood coaster it offers riders a unique experience and is a great first coaster for those looking to try out smaller thrills before graduating to some of the park’s larger coasters like the Monster," Winters told the Des Moines Register in an email.
