Vancouver's "Light Up Chinatown" festival is returning this weekend, despite last year's tragic stabbing at the event.
At the festival last year, Blair Evan Donnelly allegedly stabbed and seriously injured a married couple in their 60s and a woman in her 20s. Donnelly, who remains in custody, faces multiple charges and has a trial scheduled for May 2025.
With the upcoming event, organizers are determined to showcase the community's resilience and perseverance, aiming to bring people back to Chinatown after the traumatic incident.
