I’m really not a peak bagger, but sometimes I find myself at a high summit anyway. Mostly when my friend thathikergirl forces me to get up at 4 am and suffer through it. 😜 La Plata Peak, a 14,000-footer near Twin Lakes, is at out and back, but the way back was all new to us as we hiked up in the dark to beat the rain and the incoming storm.
