SWEEPING AKINS: This past Tuesday the freshman A volleyball team defeated Akins in a two-set sweep. Freshman Jennie Thomason said the key to getting the win was communication and knowledge of each other's playing style. “I thought we played pretty well, given that we are still learning how to play as a team,” Thomason said. “Our communication has also improved a lot and knowing how each other plays really helped our team chemistry.” Thomason also says technically, the team played well and the energy has been improving as the season continues. “We’ve been improving our skills as each practice continues and I think we did a good job of including what we have learned into game play,” Thomason said. “We played together really well and we were hustling more to get to the ball.” The Knights play their next game this coming Tuesday, August 27th, at 5:30 in the McCallum gym.
