In the two years since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, many women have experienced terrible outcomes as a result of being denied an abortion. And the reason is simple: Abortion. Is. Healthcare. “What it reflects is an abandonment of morality,” says Michele Goodwin, Professor of Constitutional Law and Global Health Policy at Georgetown and author of ‘Policing the Womb’. We are in a “Jane Crow” period, says Goodwin. “When you take people’s ability away to be able to care for themselves, you affect every aspect of their life.”
