I used to rush home every day from school to watch “Donahue” at 3 o’clock. I wanted to be him. Years later, I was honored to be there when he was inducted into The Television Academy Hall of Fame. He created the modern talkshow. He was bold enough to put on Minister Farrakhan & Sista Souljah for the best conversations on television. People are afraid to do that now.
