“Like the moon it shall be established forever, a faithful witness in the skies.” -Psalm 89:37 This is an excerpt of a restatement of God’s covenant with David, that his house would endure, and continues to point to the coming Messiah which would be of David’s line. This fact that Jesus would come forth is certain, unchanging and deliberate, as the sun and the moon are constant in the sky. Just as these are ever present and will be forever, the Kingdom of God will be forever. It will be the sole mighty presence. We as God’s children are the witnesses for what Christ has done; and for all time we shall bear witness to the glory of God, proclaiming his mighty name forever. What an experience to capture the eclipse this past spring! To know that even in darkness, God has a plan to create light.
