The varsity football team lost 50-16 in a scrimmage Friday night against LBJ to prepare for their season opener next week. Although the game didn’t go in favor of the Knights, they maintain a positive outlook for the season. Senior Braxton Bishop thinks that the game was good practice to see where the team stands ahead of the season. He also thinks it helped them prepare for the Taco Shack Bowl against rival Anderson on Thursday. “[We] kinda get a feel for where we are as a team,” Bishop said. “I think a lot of us did our job; we still got a lot of work to do, but we’ll be ready.” To do so, Bishop thinks that the team needs to improve on working together and maintaining composure throughout the game. “We were kinda getting a little heated at the start, but we just gotta calm down, remember our plays, and do our job,” Bishop said.
