Happy Juneteenth everyone! My name is Lindsey, I work up front at the shop and am hosting a Juneteenth Insta Takeover. A little about me- I graduated with my B.A. in Africana Studies last year and am a scholar-activist. When I’m not making y’all lattes and serving up our amazing bread, I work as a volunteer birth and postpartum doula to the BIPOC community. Today in our stories I’ll be sharing the history of Juneteenth and why the holiday is so important. I’ll also link some amazing Black organizations you can donate to/ support as well as other action items! Make sure to stop by the shop tomorrow, Saturday 6/20, all of the proceeds from the sale of kouign amanns will be donated to the Innocence Project as part of #bakersagainstracism- come out and support!
