A few days ago the NFL’s analytics team unveiled a brand new stat called Expected Rushing Yards. Basically, it’s going to be used to determine the success rate of certain running plays, but its also pretty helpful for fantasy. Here’s the top 10 running backs who exceeded their expected rushing yards in 2019.⠀

THE LIST - Derrick Henry leading this stat is no surprise. His ability to break free on long runs is pretty well known, and he leads this stat in pretty much every way. Chubb being on this list was kinda surprising to me, but he is also really good and breaking through tacklers. The rest of this list is pretty understandable until you get to Carlos Hyde. Hyde was somehow able to outperform his expected production, even though he had a mediocre year. One other thing to add is that Kenyan Drake would be on this list, but he didn’t meet the minimum carries mark to be considered, and he probably would’ve been placed above Dalvin Cook.⠀
