What a joyous occasion this past week at the DNC! As a former newspaper photojournalist, this was my first real return to the political space since 2017, and it was an incredible event to dip my toes back in. I’ll admit I was a bit nervous going in, unsure of what to expect. But once you’re back, it’s like riding a bike! The first night is all about working out the kinks, the second night is about rediscovering your space, and nights three and four you’re kicking ass and taking names! 🤷🏽‍♀️ (Well, not literally, but you know what I mean!) While the event was exhausting, it felt amazing to be back in the environment. A huge shoutout to our DNCC team: lawrenceagyei, chrisdilts, kevloweryphoto, bsiu99, and especially our incredible photo editor shelbyleeman.
