save this for when you don’t want to wait around for your cinnamon rolls ✨ soft and fluffy homemade yeast free cinnamon rolls with a gooey center…vegan, dairy free and eggless as always
Yeasted dough can take hours to knead, rise and bake. This recipe skips all that time (and work) by using a simple ingredient you probably have in your pantry- baking powder.
Baking powder, as opposed to baking soda, creates a controlled rise that creates a tender crumb. This is because baking powder is designed to react in two stages- first, when it gets wet and second, when it’s exposed to heat.
This recipe also uses oat milk mixed with a bit of vinegar to create a dairy free buttermilk. With dairy free melted butter it makes a rich and soft dough that has a texture SO similar to yeasted cinnamon rolls…but they only take 35-40 minutes to make 🙌 I love topping them with a fluffy vanilla or vegan cream cheese frosting and they are just *chefs kiss*
Don’t get me wrong I love a good regular cinnamon ...
