For the first set of lohud high school football rankings to open the 2024 season, we will be counting down to No. 1 by unveiling one top 10 team each day. Last year's lohud Rockland Player of the Year, Jephthah Joseph, showed he can be a two-way impact player and, at times, even carry the offensive workload as an every-down back. As talented as Joseph is, he won't be the only veteran that the Mounties rely on. Despite graduating nearly half of their starters from last season, Suffern's returners are heavily experienced multi-year starters, including defensive back and receiver Finnegan Mitchell, two-way lineman Shane Staulcup, and quarterback Mason Polombo. Bryce Bachia and Adrian Rynkevic are also back to help bolster the Mounties up front.
