#OTD: More than 250,000 people gathered at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C., to fight for civil rights in the United States. This historic event is famously remembered as the day Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his iconic “I Have a Dream” speech, where he shared impactful words about racial injustice in America and a hopeful message for a better future.
The March on Washington brought activists from all walks of life together to address inequality and discrimination. Attendees included Rabbi Joachim Prinz, a staunch civil rights advocate and co-organizer of the March. Rabbi Prinz delivered a speech just before Dr. King stating, "The most urgent, the most disgraceful, the most shameful and the most tragic problem is silence."
