The freshman football team, like their varsity counterpart, has been up and rolling, practicing every morning and afternoon to prepare for the upcoming season.
The ninth-grade Knights lost their first game last night against the Anderson Trojans, 36-6. While it was not the Anderson game everyone attends, it marked the start of the season, a big and challenging moment for the team.
“The game went well,” freshman Vance Reinig said. “Our team was nervous at the beginning, but then we saw that they were just people like us, which helped me and my pals focus on the game.”
Before the game, Reinig and teammate Kevin Gallas were excited and pumped to start the season.
“The season has had a lot of ups and downs,” Reinig said, “but I have a lot of fun playing with my friends every day.”
