PREPPING FOR TACO SHACK: The junior varsity football team has been practicing and preparing for its first game, against the Anderson Trojans, since before the beginning of school. The team comes into school every morning at 7:30 and continues practicing into the football period, which ends at 10:15. After school, the team stays until 6 p.m. During the afternoon sessions, the team watches film, goes over plays, or runs more drills, if the weather permits. To prepare for its game against the Trojans, the junior varsity and freshman teams were supposed to combine to play LBJ on Friday, Aug 23; the game got canceled, however, due to a storm that rolled in. Looking towards the game tonight, sophomore quarterback Aiden Ilai is ready to get the season underway and expects the team to execute plays. “I’m excited for the game,” Ilai said. “I’m just ready to kick off the new season.
