Today in Hip-Hop — Kanye West released his sophomore album ‘Late Registration.’ After delivering an impressive and proper introduction as a rapper—not just a producer—with his debut album, ‘The College Dropout,’ Kanye followed up with ‘Late Registration’ on August 30, 2005. This second album gave a great glance inside the mind of Kanye as he showcased his musical range by slightly veering away from the sped-up soul samples he’d become known for. Trading them in for a bigger focus on more elaborate and orchestral style production with a 20-piece ensemble.
