This image was captured by an Apollo 10 astronaut with a handheld 70mm camera in May 1969. The Apollo 10 mission completed all the steps necessary to clear the way for the first Moon landing that July.
Image description: Framed at the top by the desolate black void of space, this oblique view of the lunar surface features International Astronomical Union Crater 302. While two large craters and smaller ones dot the pockmarked gray surface, terraced walls and a central cone dominate the largest geologic feature toward the center of the image.
