Travel uptown and step into the Medieval ages at this museum in New York City
The MetCloisters is inside Fort Tryon Park in Washington Heights and is a stunning museum with medieval and European architecture, art and gardens.
This museum is Pay What You Wish for New York residents and New York, New Jersy and Connecticut students, and you can also go for free with your NYC (nypl bklynlibrary or qplnyc) library card through Culture Pass (same as metmuseum!)
The Cloisters opened in the 1930s and have 3 beautiful gardens and over 2,000 works of art and objects from the twelfth through the fifteenth-century.
You feel like you are transported to Europe hundreds of years ago.
The Cloisters are super easy to get to: the A train to Dyckman Street, 190th St or the M4 bus to get you right there. Don’t forget to walk around forttryon_park afterwards!
