I know I just said I’m not a peakbagger but Huron Peak ✅✅✅! This was possibly my favorite 14er that I’ve done so far. It was pretty dang chill as far as 14ers go, we didn’t have to route find through boulder fields, and we had a phenomenal sunrise! For the second weekend in a row, thathikergirl and I were the second group of the day to reach the peak! (Though of course last week it was La Plata rather than Huron). A hummingbird buzzed around my head at the top because I was wearing my CDT floral hoodie from townshirt.co and it must have thought I was a flower. 😂 And, to top it off I’m pretty sure we heard some mountain lions calling but they didn’t eat us so I always call that a win. 😜 September is off to a great start! (Aside from the ankle that I rolled on the way down the mountain but I guess you can’t win ‘em all. Thank goodness I was fine to hike out on it.
