A gold medal winning performance 🥇 Team USA's Matt Stutzman won gold in the Para archery individual compound open on Sunday, setting a new Paralympic record of 149 on the way. The 41-year-old has become famous for his "armless archer" technique. Having been born without arms, Stutzman grew up in a family of hunters in Iowa after being adopted at four months old and he said his father and brother were his role models, although they "couldn't hit nothing." "But when you're little, you want to act like your dad or mimic what he does, so he helped me purchase my first bow," Stutzman said, per the Paralympics website. He purchased his first bow at 16, but it was stolen the following year. It was not until 2008 that he purchased another before he went onto win silver at the 2012 London Paralympic Games. In 2015, Stutzman hit a target from 310 yards, breaking the longest Guinness-ratified distance by any athlete or individual in the world. . . . #2024paralympics #paris #paralympics #team...
