In the Acupuncture Masters program, we learn each individual acupuncture point over the course of 3 out of the 11 semesters of the program. We learn how to locate every point on every body (we practice and are tested on our fellow students of varying heights, weights, and body constitutions), what each point's primary functions are, and how to incorporate it into a treatment. Another two semesters of classes is devoted to solely practicing the needle technique for each acupuncture point. There are over 360 named acupuncture points.
This is Lung-7. This point can be needled at the onset of cold or flu symptoms, such as a sore throat, cough, wheezing, sinus congestion, headache, stiff neck, and chills. in addition to benefiting immunity and respiratory issues because of its location on the Lung channel, LU-7 is also used to open the Ren channel, or Conception Vessel, which governs fertility and menstrual cycles, and we use it often in our fertility acupuncture treatments.
