A lot of you know I have food sensitivities beyond gluten but did you know I’ve been avoiding *or mostly so* food coloring since 1990? (I say mostly bc every once in awhile you can find me with starbursts or skittles) πŸ’™ My dad discovered food coloring caused his migraines and we discovered it contributed to my acne. πŸ’™ While research is still inconclusive on the effects of food dyes, hyperactivity, cancers, irritability and depression are just a few things that have been explored as being linked to dyes. πŸ’š The consumption of dyes has increased 500% in the last 50 years! We add over 15 million pounds a year of dye to our food!!!! Dyes originally came from coal tar but more commonly come from petroleum now. πŸ’š I don’t know about you but I sure don’t feel like I need these chemicals in my body!
