What's better than one pup? 30 PUPS! Gray wolves in California have added a whopping 30 NEW PUPS this spring, according to a new report by the CaliforniaDFW. Now, the total known population in the state is up to 62 wolves including adults, yearlings and pups. This is especially remarkable considering it was just 13 years ago that OR-7 made his history journey across state lines to become the first known wolf in California in nearly a century. This population boost serves as a testament to the power of both the federal and state endangered species acts. And while it's a great start — we've still got more work to do to continue helping this species fully recover and thrive in the state. 📹 courtesy of CA Department of Fish and Wildlife #california #californiawildlife #graywolves #saveourwolves #endangeredspecies #wildlifeconservation
