It was a game of big plays, so it was only fitting that in the closing minute of the season-opener Friday night for the North Rockland and Monroe-Woodbury football teams a big penalty helped set the stage for a dramatic conclusion that involved yet another big play.
Visiting Monroe-Woodbury got the win Friday night 21-14 at the Haverstraw Sport Complex when Crusaders senior Tristan Conklin recovered a North Rockland fumble on Monroe-Woodbury’s 19 with 13 seconds left.
