The game's lone goal for Chelsea came in the 30th minute when Christian Pulisic was stopped by Guzman Corujo after receiving a ball from Michy Batshuayi. The goalie stumbled in the box as a result of the deflection, giving Pulisic enough time to score on the other side of the goal. Pulisic had a chance to score his second goal three minutes later when he came rushing down the middle in Charlotte's end, eluding all the defenders. When he was about to shoot after receiving a cross, he just barely scratched it, but it wasn't enough to stop the ball.
