The “pungent” odor of cannabis led authorities this month to what they said was a large illicit marijuana processing operation in rural Washington County. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office last week served a search warrant near the 32000 block of Southwest Tongue Lane, the same location of a similar search by Yamhill County four years ago. Authorities had been tipped off about the smell. A county narcotics team seized about 6,600 pounds of cannabis from the property. Police made no arrests.
