When it comes to hitting fades and draws, it’s important to understand the science behind it. Assuming we are hitting the ball in the center of the club face, the club face mostly determines where the golf ball starts while the path curves a golf ball. So for a draw, your body needs to set up right of your target, while the club face is left of your path but still right of your target and vice versa for a fade. Practicing draws and fades on the range or in your net at home is a great way to add variability and shot making into your daily practice. I’ve always found when I’m struggling with my swing, instead of trying to ‘fix’ my swing, being more playful with my shots, hitting draws and fades and being more external is a better way for me to correct my ball striking.
