Here’s a putting tip on setup that I did at Wentworth last week for @nickdougherty5 Tee Time Tips page. Because the putting stroke is such a small move, set up becomes very important. I’m a firm believer that you should never manipulate the path of your putting stroke, but let set up determine the path. I like to be as neutral as possible & when I say that I mean I want the shaft of the putter to run up my forearms, and I also want my hands to hang directly below my shoulders, and it’s where you choose to have your hands at set up that determine the path. . Your hands in the putting stroke always come back to your shoulder line, so with my hands directly below my shoulders, the shaft is actually going to go back and thru in a straight line, but because the putter sits at an angle, the head of the putter - or the way it swings - it’s path, will arc in on the back stroke and in on the follow through. . So let your set up determine your path so you don’t have to think about it, so you too...
