Winner, winner, chicken dinner!
Last weekend, Feel It All won the alivefilmchallenge (& a sick hand-cut, hand-made granite trophy!) as part of the winterparkfilmfestival. I’m humbled and stoked to win, and I’m even more so inspired for the future of mental health advocacy through storytelling.
Massive thanks and respect to connornelson.dop and joshfinbow for starting the Alive Film Challenge. It’s a competition (more like an uplifting conglomeration?) of sorts for films that directly address mental health, suicide, addiction, and recovery. I love that—especially that it’s about addressing all of this “head-on” through telling stories. Obviously, I too believe that direct approach is what moves the needle. And on top of that, it’s part of the winterparkfilmfestival that was super fun and felt very Colorado.
At times, it’s felt like talking about mental health and suicide publicly has put me on an island within my community. But these guys and Alive prove that’s not the case. There...
