Know before you go: Iceland road trippers—parking at almost every attraction is NOT cheap! 💸 We paid 1000-1,500 ISK (around $7.25 - $10 USD) at most stops, and while it doesn’t sound like a lot, it really adds up. We averaged 4-5 spots with parking charges, every day. MOST IMPORTANTLY: Don’t miss or skip the parking fee!! The areas are photo monitored by license plate, and once you drive in, you’re subject to pay—or get hit with a fine that’s 4x ++ the fee. We missed one charge spot and ended up with a $42 bill, which we had to settle before returning our van. 😬 ☑️ TIP: Most parking payments are made through your phone via QR code, so make sure you’ve got service. Evan got a $12 international eSIM via airalocom before we arrived, which saved us from any connectivity issues at each stop. 🚗 💡 If you’re traveling with friends, consider carpooling to cut costs! We were lucky to road trip with our friends travellife_journey for half the trip, though we didn’t consider sharing park...
