From Atalanta to Atlanta: Alexey Miranchuk’s Journey to MLS // atlutd — Had the opportunity to travel to Bergamo, Italy to meet Alexey days before his first flight to the US. He kindly let us into his world and ivashchenko.sonya and I had the opportunity to learn about him, his career and his future aspirations in MLS. We visited around Bergamo with him where many Atalanta fans thanked Alexey for his time there and wished him well on his big journey ahead. From there, Sonya and I flew back to the US and were there at the airport to greet him and his wife during their first day in America. Alexey quickly got integrated into the squad, met all of his new teammates, and made his MLS Debut against LA Galaxy in Los Angeles. With only a few minutes under his belt, it was quickly evident the great impact he was going to have on the team.
