Pilot Raimund Riedmann is lucky enough to fly some of the most legendary aircrafts on Earth, including this WW2 era P-38 Lightning, which tops out at a whopping 443 mph.
This year's Sywell Airshow showcased everything from classic war planes, to huge cargo aircrafts, to modern fighter jets. The flying line-up included formation + unique display acts, some of which were UK firsts.
Riedmann got to get behind the sticks of a Lockheed P-38 Lightning: an American single-seat, twin piston-engined fighter aircraft that was used during World War 2. Developed for the United States Army Air Corps by the Lockheed Corporation, the P-38 incorporated a distinctive twin-boom design with a central nacelle containing the cockpit + armament.
