20 years ago today, davechappelle threw one of the best block parties ever! 🙌🏽 On September 18, 2004, Dave invited some of his favorite artists—including #TheRoots, #ErykahBadu, #JillScott, #KanyeWest, #Common, #TheFugees, #DeadPrez, #YasiinBey fka #MosDef, & #TalibKweli—down to Brooklyn to perform and opened the free invite to the neighborhood. Even a young J. Cole was in the crowd! Luckily, Dave Chappelle’s Block Party was also released as a film the following year for people who weren’t lucky enough to be there.
