The history between Auburn and Arkansas dates back to 1984 before the Razorbacks officially joined the conference.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ The future conference foes would meet for the first time on December 27, 1984, in Memphis, Tennessee. The 16th-ranked Tigers would pull out the 21-15 victory in the Liberty Bowl.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Arkansas joined the SEC in 1992. The first game as conference foes was played in Auburn and resulted in a 24-24 tie - the only tie in the matchup history as overtime was adopted in 1996.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Auburn would win the 1993 and 1994 matchups before losing for the first time in 1995 at the Razorbacks' second home in Little Rock.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ The Razorbacks have had one of the crazier uniform histories in the SEC.
